Yosemites is Biiiigggg

Yosemite (Friday, Sept 24)

Yosemite is truly a magical place.  After we had a great breakfast, I decided to take a hike up the creek beside our campsite.  I did not prepare myself for this hike so after an hour of hoping from stone to stone along the creekbed, I realized that I had no idea where I was heading.  There were a number of trails from the creek bed that headed in various directions, however when they had numbers beside them like 15 and 35 KM, I begged off, chickened out and headed back to camp.  I got the scooter off the back of Rita and did my reconnoiter on pavement and gravel while riding on two wheels.  It was a great hour or so, and I got to see some amazing scenery.  Ade was not feeling too great that day and had a good sleep while I buzzed around.  I could not believe that in the middle of nowhere at almost 9,500 ft, I found a gas station, grocery store and packing gear store, and an interpretive center.

Temperatures at this elevation were quite extreme with a daytime high of 91 degrees, and a low of 33 in the night time.  In the evening we had a full moon that was so bright that moonshadows were cast all around us.  On the hills you could see every tree and the shadow it cast.  With the reflection on the creek, this picture was something that only an artist could capture.  I have not figured out the time exposure on my camera, so every picture I took was just a black blob!
