On to San Diego

Friday Oct 1

We talked to Meg and Dave.  Since they were already in San Diego, we decided to skip San Francisco for now and head south.  On our way we stopped at Trilogy Golf and country club, about ½ hour east of Napa near one of the large bays that extend all the way from San Francisco to Stockton (a city that must be 50 miles inland, but still on an arm of an inlet that extends from San Francisco Bay).

To show you how the American housing market has tumbled, you can get a home (tile roof and stucco finish) on the Golf Course at Trilogy for less than $160,000, and strata fees are only $130 per month.  The golf course looked amazing, with many water hazards and fountains, and there was other activities for residents such as a number of tennis courts, and a large club house with full size billard tables in a parlour room!

After a brief tour, we continued to head south.  It was a long day and we wanted to make San Diego before dark, so we did not stop except for gas.  Poor Ade struggled between the seats to the back of Rita, and made lunch “on the run”, but we made good time and were in San Diego for supper!

It was great to see Meg and Dave again and Jaime (who is down on a two week vacation and staying with Meg and Dave in their trailor) , and of course our little grand-child  Finley!  I could talk for ages about her!!!

They had found a great RV location in Chula Vista, just on the south end of town, on the water’s edge.  We have been used to staying at Mission Bay, but this location may not be as centrally located as Mission Bay, buy the camp spots are definitely nicer.
